Thanksgiving 2008 Tucson
Normally at Thanksgiving we get together either at our house or at Valerie’s parents house in Ventura. This year, however, since Joe and Crystal’s dogs recently had puppies, we decided that we’d have the family gathering in Arizona. We loaded all the grandparents into the Land Cruiser and headed off to Tucson. Tony and Jay followed us in Jay’s car. It was a long drive, and it rained heavily the first few hours. But the weather cleared as we left California.
Joe and Crystal’s house is full of dogs, puppies (10 puppies) and cats so we decided to go out for Thanksgiving dinner
We ended up at the local Coco’s Restaurant. Nothing fancy, but everybody was very happy with the turkey dinner…and especially the pie for dessert!

After dinner we headed back to Joe and Crystal’s house to play with the puppies! Valerie made christmas hats for the puppies

Tony would love to have a puppy, but he has to wait until his job situation settles down and he moves into a house with a big yard

The women-folk went to the movies so the men went to the local gun store to stock up on ammunition to take to the shooting range.
The shooting range is a 30 minute drive on the outskirts of Tucson. The price was right at $6 per shooter. Tony brought his Springfield SOCOM-II assault rifle and a 9mm Beretta handgun. Floyd brought a .30 caliber carbine (the same type he used when he was in the Army) and a .22 caliber revolver which belonged to his father. Joe brought his .22 Caliber Ruger rifle, .45 caliber Ruger P345handgun and a replica 1861 Navy Colt .44 caliber black powder revolver.
Jay plinkin’ with the old .30 caliber carbine.
It took us a while to dial in the sight, but when we did the SOCOM-II was amazingly accurate. We were grouping very tight patterns at 100 yards. We thought about setting targets at 200 yards, but I couldn’t see that far

Looks like you had fun there! And so many cuties to cuddle!
